At Your Side is dedicated and committed to provide skilled volunteer advocates trained in the positive and competent team player approach. Advocates work together with the individual and their doctor to get an understandable response to questions and concerns. 

The care of a loved one, or even your own care, can be improved by becoming involved with the healthcare team approach by asking questions, understanding the answer, and evaluating all of the possible options.

As chronic health situations progress with increased longevity, sadly many individuals are left to face their health issues
without the ability and knowledge needed to understand their own illnesses. 

In some cases, this could simply be due to memory loss from the normal aging process, and in others it may be  due to the older social orientation of not questioning what the doctor says.  As a result, the continuity of care suffers, illnesses worsen, and life becomes a greater challenge for everyone involved.
