This is the time to begin communicating positively with the doctor and staff.
Introduce yourself
A good way to start the appointment is by introducing yourself to the office staff and doctor. Let the medical personnel know who you are, your relationship to the patient, and your intention.
Explain that your role is to assist the client with medical appointments by helping the individual remember the questions they wanted to ask, and make sure answers and treatment recommendations are clearly understood.
If requested by the client, you should let the provider know that you will be reporting back to the family.
